Internet Explorer is annoying! I don’t know why people are still using this useless browser. Although it’s tough, we have to deal with this browser, especially for Web Developers.
Have you experienced where images are not showing up on IE but working correctly on other browser? All you see is that annoying x image saying that your image is not loading up on this particular browser. Well, if you’re experiencing it, here are suggested solutions:
- Check if image really does exist - but I guess you already checked this before reading this post. I mean, the problem is only on IE, right? But just in case, please check if you’re viewing the correct image. You can do that by right clicking the mouse, select Properties then check the image URl stated there.
- Clear your browser files and cache – again, just in case. I actually don’t know the relevance but I did this once and voila, the image is back.
- Optimized image size and resolution – If you create that image yourself, make sure to optimize the image for Website before saving it. Don’t just save the image as JPEG because you will end up having a JPEG image with kinda hefty file size that IE cannot handle for itself. If you’re using Photoshop, you can find the Save for Web & Devices.
I hope that helps. Send us some of your suggestion by leaving a comment on this page.
