TimThumb, a project by BinayMoon, is a simple, flexible, PHP script that resizes images. You give it a bunch of parameters, and it spits out a thumbnail image that you can display on your site.

The script will automatically resize and crop your image into a thumbnail. So instead of uploading two different size of images, you can just use the TimThumb script to resize the large image to a thumbnail.

This script is pretty easy to install, here’s how:

  1. Download the TimThumb script here.
  2. Create two folder where you will upload the script, set the permission to 777
    • Cache
    • Temp
  3. Upload the TimThumb script on your server

How to use:

<img src=”/path/to/timthumb.php?src=IMAGE_URL_HERE” />

ex:

<img src=”timthumb.php?src=sample.jpg” />
